Characteristics

From 2011, Nyvoll Consult been involved in the extension of existing container wharf in Borg Harbour. It is designed a 152m long wharf in the extension of the existing wharf. The quay is build with water depth above 13m and a width of 17m. There are two land zones, which also anchors the quay. Due to the challenging ground condition, driven concrete piles driven to hard rock are carrying these zones to ensure adequate security against ground failure.

Nyvoll Consult as has been the advising engineer in the pilot phase, tendering phase and erection phase.

Primarily the use is calls by container vessels, but design also implement calls by larger vessels like cruise ships.

Construction started in 2014 with completion within 2015
