Characteristics

From 2015, Nyvoll Consult has been involved in the construction of the City's Pier in Pæddekummen in Lower Glomma, Sarpsborg. Construction was initiated by Borg Harbour Port Authority and was a gift to Sarpsborg City in connection with the 1000 anniversary.

The pier has naturally varying water depth at the front and is designed with steel core piles to hard rock carrying a longitudinal concrete beam in front and a ground bearing concrete slab at the landside area. The area consists of significant saturation of the soft clay above hard rock. The pier superstructure consist of creosoted timber with impregnated treated wood on all surfaces.

Nyvoll Consult as has been the harbor advisor for civil engineering in a general contract and with tender documents, calculations and drawings.

Designed for lightweight use.
