150m long cruise pier, including onshore mooring bollards at both sides.
Characteristics
The Port of Kristiansand has engaged ALTi Bygg og Anlegg as to build the cruise pier in a total contract. The pier is designed for calls by cruise ships of different sizes up to the Oasis-class with a length of 360m.
The pier has 12m water depth at the front and has foundation of steel core piles to hard rock with buckling braced, concrete filled steel tubes between seabed and superstructure.
Assembly consists of rand girders in concrete and concrete slab elements. The Pier is equipped with sufficient fenders and 100T / 150T Bollards along quay front. Along the shoreline, on both sides of the pier 3 pcs 250T Bollards is build. All structures, including Bollards, are directly anchored into hard rock.
It has previously been landslides in the area and the foundation method / design solution was chosen in order to minimize vibrations in the ground, and to perform erection with a method that would not to destabilize the masses beyond the current situation.
Nyvoll Consult as has been total contractor’s advisor for civil engineering in a total contract and has designed complete calculations and drawings for the entire pier.
